The meeting will be on Sunday July 23rd at 1pm, and will be preceded by a BBQ lunch from midday.

We would really like to hear from anyone who has any suggestions for improvements in the running of the club. This is your chance to have a say in how the club is run, or letting us know your experiences in what has worked or not worked in other clubs you have been associated with.

Wimbledon!– finals are on this weekend and it looks like an oldies party with codgers Roger Federer and Venus Williams heading up the charge against the younger brigade. Break out the Pimms, it should be great viewing.

Peake Gardens Riverside New Coach Appointment! SEC=PUBLIC

Dear Slugs

Winter season is well underway with junior and senior matches continuing on Friday night and Saturday. I hope everyone is enjoying it so far. This weekend we have double slugfests on with our 2 Friday night Premier League Junior teams clashing tonight, and our 2 Men’s Div 8 teams playing each other tomorrow afternoon. There should be a bit of a crowd watching on, and I think I can guarantee the tennis will be hotter than the weather.

Please see the latest announcements below, including Entertainment Books, and a photo of new supercoach Ben Milner so you know who he is if you see him at the courts. I don’t have any photos of our other 2 coaches Matt & Reece, but if you see a couple of manbun-wearing trendsetters out there giving lessons, that’s probably them.

Entertainment Books and The App are still available!

Your old entertainment book runs out as of today, so click on the link below to tee up another book or the app. You will be able to pick up your book from the club about a week after ordering.

Peak Performance Tennis New Coach Ben Milner

This is Ben. J This might be Matt or Reece.

French Open: Nick out, Sammy Survives

The French Open continues with Sam Stosur the last Aussie standing in her favourite Grand Slam event, but Nick Kygrios got smashed last night, along with a couple of his racquets.

Note to all Juniors: Nick only smashes his racquets because he gets them all for free, but your parents have to pay for yours so don’t smash them or carry on like a sook if you’re losing. Be tough.

Don’t be like Nick

He’s a D ubious role model.

Peake Gardens Riverside New Season Announcements SEC=PUBLIC

Dear Slugs

I’m still hoping to get hold of a photo of the Div 6 Girls summer premiership team. If anyone has one please send it on to me at this email address.

Please see the latest announcements below.

Winter Pennant starts Saturday May 6th

Good luck to all players. Emails & texts will be coming out from Marcus & Matt when the programmes are released.

New Box League Singles Competition begins from May 1st

This year, Peak Performance Tennis is hosting our first ever Box League Competitions!

What are Box League Comps?

Box Leagues allow players to enjoy fun, competitive SINGLES matches at their own convenience. This five week competition enables you to organise your own match times, making it the perfect opportunity to keep active at a time that suits you.

Why enter?

The Box League Comps are unique – they’re driven by the players within the competition. This means they are a great way to:

- Meet potential practice partners

- Socialise and network with fellow club members

- Practice match play at your level

- Keep active

- Improve your tennis!

How does it work?

- Players are organised into Round Robin ‘Boxes’ of 4 to 6 people of a similar standard

· – Boxes may be mixed sex

· – Players arrange their own match times to play every other player in their box within the competition period

· – Players submit results by email to peakperformancecomps

· – Winners of each box win FREE ENTRY into the next Box League Comp!

Where are matches played?

All matches will be played at Peake Gardens TC (Bice Street, Marleston, 5033).

When is the competition?

The Competition will run from Monday 1st May – Sunday 5th June 2017. All matches must be completed within this 5 week time period. For floodlights, please arrange matches during coaching times (see the Box League Calendar (link will be sent when you register) for coaching times).

Cost?

Introductory Discount Rate of $25 per player for PGRTC Members.

Special Offer: Floodlights will be FREE during coaching times (usually $10/hr/court).

Payment must be made prior to the commencement of the competition period.

So, are you ready to join? What’s next?

1. To register to play, email Marcus at peakperformanceSA with your email and phone number before the Registration Deadline (Wednesday 26th April). NOTE: contact details of participants (phone number and email) will be made available to all participants within your box. This is to allow for contact between participants to organise matches. Only registered participants will be able to access this information.

2. Tell us which League you would like to join (Junior – 18U, or Senior – open to players aged 14yrs and older), and let us know a bit about your tennis standard.

3. We will send you a link to the Box League Spreadsheet and Box League Calendar. Check the Box League Spreadsheet for your opponents’ contact details and begin organising matches (either call, text or email)!

4. Let us know your match times as you arrange them – we will add them to the calendar so you won’t lose track.

5. Enjoy your matches and keep sending us your scores – we will update the calendar with match results so you can keep an eye on everyone’s progress.

Thanks everyone for bringing the salads and desserts, and special thanks to Grantley Haskell for his efforts at cooking the delicious barbecue, and also throughout the year in collecting all the cans & bottles to enable us to subsidise the barbie catering to the tune of over $600. Thanks Big G!
